QAI conducts the Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA), Certified Software Tester (CSTE) and Certified Software Project Manager (CSPM) examinations every quarter
at various locations worldwide.
A candidate for this Certification must meet certain pre-requisites
with regard to education and experience, receive a personal
reference from someone aware of their character and skills,
and successfully pass a comprehensive four-part written examination.
Registration
Process
Individuals
applying for Certification candidacy need to submit a completed
'Certification Candidacy Application'.
Application Fee
Option 1: US$350

Option 2: US$420
[Application Fee + CD + hard copy of the Study Guide]
* Fees are subject to revision by the Software Certifications Board.
All
application forms, references, supporting documents and required
fees must be submitted at least 60 calendar days prior
to any examination date selected. The forms
can be downloaded from www.softwarecertifications.org.

Examination
Candidates for certification must pass a four-part written
examination in order to obtain certification. The examination
evaluates the candidate's knowledge and practice of the skill
areas defined in the Body of Knowledge.
Candidates who do not successfully pass the examination may
resit for the examination up to two times within two years
of intial approval, by submitting a retake application and
paying all required fees. Subsequent additional examination
efforts require reinitiating the entire application process.
Recertification
CSQAs, CSTEs and CSPMs must demonstrate
Continuing Professional Education (CPE) activities designed
to maintain the skill sets associated with the respective
Common Body of Knowledge.
To assure
that the certificant is maintaining knowledge and skills that
are state-of the-art in the field, the certificant must demonstrate
continuing professional education (CPE) activities.
This
may be done by:
- Submitting
a Recertification Journal of qualified Continuing Professional
Education activities, OR
- Taking
an Examination for Recertification to demonstrate your competence
and skill in the certification knowledge domains.
The certificant
must maintain a current knowledge base of quality principles,
practices, and technical knowledge in the information technology
industry advances. By acquiring that, the candidates maintain
and increase their level of competency through various avenues
of education and activity.
