Application software testing is undeniably an enticing area for service providers. It is compelling to customers and prospects and amenable to outsourcing, and can drive new profits and rapid growth. These very attributes also mean that all aspects of the testing market are extremely competitive, from winning new engagements to recruiting and retaining experienced delivery resources. The ability to scale and differentiate are crucial to successful service delivery. Competitive pressures bring rising costs, increased delivery challenges to do more with less, and eroding profits. In the mean time clients expect higher quality services and better communication of progress and results.
The Test Factory approach addresses these challenges through a model that standardizes the testing infrastructure, automates demand and resource management, monitors governance and execution, controls technology costs, and provides a foundation for developing differentiated testing services offerings.
This paper:
1. Examines the trends and challenges in the testing marketplace
2. Describes the test factory approach, architecture and operations
3. Explores how the model specifically benefits key stakeholders in the service provider organization including CxOs, Finance, Marketing, Business Development, Delivery and Recruiting/HR
4. Highlights advantages for delivering high-value, differentiated testing services |
