The paper is organized into following sections I. What is Value for a testing engagement from a customer perspective? The definition of value differs from a CXO perspective to an IT head's perspective. From a CXO's perspective value can be: Higher ROI, Reduced Downtime, Customer satisfaction, Customer acquisition / retention, Competitive Advantage, Faster time to market and others. II. Why create Value, why innovate and why differentiate? While the in-house testing services face the constant threat of outsourcing, even the outsourced testing vendors face severe competition as switching costs from one vendor to another are very low due to competition and absence of entry barriers. In this scenario, creating value, innovating & differentiating have become survival tools rather than being competitive advantages. III. How to create Value through Testing Engagements? Innovation, IP based solutions, Re-Use and Automating manual test processes are a few vehicles of creating value for a testing service. IV. Conclusion

| Meet Anurada Biswas |
Anuradha, Associate Vice President with the Independent Validation Solutions has been a staunch evangelist for independent testing, and has successfully built strong testing teams in Start – up as well as giant sized software companies. She has spear headed specialized testing offerings around SAP and test automation accelerators for Infosys. She is a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics, a certified Microsoft Certified Professional, and Certified Segue Silk Performer. Anuradha has extensive experience in organization building, service portfolio creation, business planning, enabling the sales force and skills development for testing professionals. She has worked in both product and services industry in various domains such as Banking, Aero Space, ecommerce, transaction automation and telecom and has hands on experience in performance test strategizing to execution.

Anindya, Senior Management Professional with a cross-functional experience across Independent Validation Delivery, Pre-Sales, Consulting, M&A and Entrepreneurship works collaboratively with client and other partners in achieving client’s business outcomes. He excels in Pursuit Management and Client Relation Management. He has led innovation teams in building flagship test automation accelerator solutions. He is currently program managing one of Infosys’ key accounts for a leading Australian telecom player. |

Meet Dr. Bharathi Rao
|
Bharathi, Senior Manager, has more than 10 years experience in teaching/consultancy. She is currently driving Domain Enablement Group for Independent Validation Solutions– that is tasked with building the domain competency among the testing teams. Prior to this, she was the Managerial Deployment Unit Head with the Infosys Leadership Institute. She has anchored the Global Business Finishing School, ASTD award winning initiative at Infosys and has designed/facilitated several Finance and Business related workshops for the senior management of Infosys.She is a MBA from Toledo University, Ohio and a CPA from Illinois. Her PhD is from Mysore University (India).She has presented thought papers in several international forum such as: PMI, International HRM& HSBC Magazine and has won the * Worthy of Distinction Award for her presentation at the European Consortium of Learning Organizations.
