Performance testing is conducted to evaluate the compliance of the system to the performance requirements as defined in the Service level agreement. Bottleneck is a factor that limits the meeting of the performance requirement. The paper is organized into three sections one detailing about the types of bottlenecks and the layer at which they occur and the second gives a snapshot of the most common bottleneck and way to simulate/isolate them and the final one details the proactive and reactive measures as a part of Bottleneck management. |

| Meet Jothi Gouthaman |
Jothi Gouthaman, Leads the Performance Testing specialist group at Accenture’s Delivery Centers for Technology and has over 10 years of IT experience spread across both development and testing. In addition to this, he is also responsible for the Testing Capability Performance Labs and Services at the India delivery centers.
He is a B.E in Computer Science and is a certified Project Management Professional. He has handled large performance testing and engineering projects, has a passion towards teaching and maintains a web site on performance testing for knowledge sharing.
