The presentation will provides an insight in to how IT Service Management can be used in deploying and managing the application life cycle. It starts with the challenges and the concerns of any customer deploying an application. It provides the right path and shows how IT Service Management addresses these challenges and concerns. The discussion covers the basics of ALM (Application Life Cycle Management) and maps the application support processes to the project management stream and provides how ITSM ensures a smooth transition between the two. The ALM deployment methodology which has been developed and tested by authors experience in various aspects of transition is also covered. Various phases from the initial assessment to go live are covered in the discussion. Basic principles to cover the transition framework, infrastructure readiness, scalability and the issues relating to the governance and reporting are also highlighted in the discussion.
Meet Manoj Kumar Mauni
Manoj manages the IT Operations of AP Moller Maersk for the South Asia Region. He has over 12 yrs of experience in IT Service Management; is a graduate from BITS Pilani; holds a Masters degree in Financial Management from JBIMS; is a certified ITIL® Manager and a certified PMP. His previous roles include application support & development, managing end to end IT Service Delivery, Global Product Owner and a key player in ITIL® implementation. He has also been a key member of Global IT Service Management Panel that was set up to review and suggest improvements for the new ITIL® Version 3. He has reviewed the Service Strategy volume for ITIL® Version 3. He has also been a key member of the team responsible for CMM and ISO 9001:2000 certification for IT division of Stock Holding Corporation in 2002.
