Scenario
Based Test Estimation for Maintenance Projects
Annamariale

This paper presents an improved approach
to the estimation of software testing efforts for
web based projects in maintenance phase. The approach
emerged by the study of pros & cons in different
existing estimation models and also their difficulty
to apply for projects in maintenance phase. It mainly
focuses on the reduction of computational cost in
Estimation. It also identifies the way to improve
all possible rework & risks involved in Maintenance
phase. This approach enables effort estimates for
different phases of testing. Though the target audiences
are those who work on web-based applications in Maintenance/enhancement
phases, many of the advantages discussed here are
common for projects in development phase too. Further
work could provide how we can standardize the linking
parameters & the effort needed for test phases.
