Improving the Testing cycle: Process Models at Play

This tutorial will try to address these challenges by explaining about some of the popular test process improvement models like TPI®, TMM ® and TOM and benchmark them against the current practices.
In addition a new practical framework will be suggested, which will comprehensively cover the tasks involved in testing process improvement, define Critical Process Areas(to focus on , checklists and metrics to assess current maturity levels and methodologies and strategies to be adopted to move towards higher testing maturity levels.

The Buy in for the audience and the key learning’s of this tutorial will be to: -

  • Understand available Test Process Improvement models.
  • Appreciate the relevance of such models to act as key differentiators.
  • Build upon a new and practical framework based process improvement model.
  • Assess current test maturity levels of their organization.

Jayapradeep Jiothis is a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engg has extensive experience in the IT industry. He has good exposure to the different testing methodologies and implementing the same in the projects. He is currently a Project Leader with the Product and Application Testing Practice of Satyam Computer Services Lt.d.He has presented papers on Software Testing and Process Improvements in External and Internal forums.. Also, he is one of the authors for” Software Testing Guide Book” being published on the Softrel.org. His current topics of research include Agile Testing Methodologies, Q-Patterns , Process Improvements and Testing Metrics.

Radhakrishnan B. G is currently a Quality Leader with Kanbay Software India (P) Lt.d.His current role in the organization include Implementing, maintaining, developing and auditing internal quality processes. He is also a process trainer. He is a B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engg and a MBA(IT& Systems). He was involved in CMMI implementation for a large Software services major. His current research interests include Process Improvement models, Knowledge Management et.c.

Narendra Nagaram has been working for the past five years in Satyam Computer Services Ltd. Has worked extensively on Functional Testing, System Testing and Regression testing. Has good experience in manual as well as automated testing using automated tools. Narendra has graduated in B.E (Computer Science) from Osmania University and MS (Software Engineering) from BITS, Pilani. He has been a regular speaker at many testing conferences. Also, he is one of the authors for” Software Testing Guide Book” being published on the Softrel.org.His current topics of research include API Testing, Exploratory Testing, Testing Web based applications.
