| Mr.
Arun Ramu is currently Vice President and Head
of the Independent Validation Solutions group at Infosys
Technologies. Arun started his career with Tata Burroughs(now
Tata Infotech) after completing his B. Tech (E&C)
from KREC Suratkal in 1982.
During
his 13 year stint with Tatas, he played various roles
both on the delivery side and the client engagement
side. During his penultimate year with TUL Arun switched
lines to Head the ISO 9001 initiative at the Bangalore
centre. On successfully getting certified, Arun moved
on to join Trigent Software, a start up. During the
5 years with Trigent, Arun spear-headed the certification
drive and then moved on to manage their operations at
the US office for a year. On return from the US Arun
joined Infosys Technologies as a Delivery Manager in
one of their technology groups.
His
interest in testing was kindled by the rising demand
for such services from many a customer. Based on his
reading of the market he built up a business case which
was accepted by the Board. Today this service team has
grown rapidly and testing now stands at 6.2% of Infosys
revenues and is growing rapidly.
Arun
hopes to see the Testing Market mature in a few years
and become one of the more profitable lines for the
Indian Outsourcing companies. |
