PVR Murthy,PC Anitha, M Mahesh, Roshan Joseph, V Saravanakumar, Siemens

Bangalore: Date: March 20   Code: 404AH   Venue: Hotel Leela Palace

The dynamic behavior of systems based on protocols and Graphical user interface systems are best described using state diagrams. Common applications such as Banking software and ATM operations are easily captured using state machines.
The standard UML notation provides statecharts as a type of diagram to designers and developers for development purposes.

This tutorial describes how to use UML statechart models for test generation purposes. It defines the concept of test ready UML Statechart models. The tutorial also demonstrates how to generate tests automatically from UML statecharts from a tool such as Rose and also describes the process of test generation from UML Activity diagrams.

Participants will learn:

  • About Model based testing and the concepts of an adequate test suite.
  • How to make UML statecharts and activity diagrams test ready so that they are suitable for test generation by a test tool.
  • How to generate executable test cases from UML models mentioned above.

There will also be an opportunity to attend demonstration of tools associated with the above concepts.
