The objective of this award is to reward a Software Organization, for demonstrating an improvement in business value, resulting fromsoftware process excellence. The award is based on a theme that will be specified by the sponsor each year.

Theme for 2004: Project Management

Objective: The objective of this award is to reward an ORGANIZATION, for demonstrating an improvement in business value, resulting from software process excellence.

The theme (Project Management) would aim at providing business value to the organization in terms of service-cost-quality. The process excellence is achieved through a set of practices that have collectively resulted in improving the business value, during the past one year.

The award will be based on the following criteria:-

1) Business Value based on the theme specified for that year
2) Extent of supporting project data (quantitative) (Validation of data may be done through a site visit)
3) Institutionalization
4) Innovativeness / first-of-a-kind attempt
5) Presentation

Each Award will be given to an Organization and the team of key people who made it happen. The organization would nominate a maximum of 4 people. The awards would be as follows :
For the Organization : Trophy.
For the Individual : Smaller replicas of the trophy, certificates, Rs.50,000 Award to be shared. The awards would be presented during specially organized ceremony, where these winners will also make formal presentations about the chosen applications / products.

SELECTION PROCESS
The selection committee will decide the detailed criteria for each award and weightages for each different criteria. The committee will short list the top five applicants for each award and the final choice would be based on the original application form and presentation made by the applicants.

Deadline extended :
The deadline for submissions of applications for the CSI-QAI Process Excellence award has been extended to February 21, 2004.
