QAI Eyes Apac Market
The Financial Express, March 4, 2002

Quality Assurance Institute(QAI) India has chalked out an expansion plan for Asia Pacific(Apac) and Australia to be followed by Japan and USA.

Speaking to eFE, QAI CEO Navyug Mohnot said, "Our aim is to make QAI a transnational organisation and showcase Indian IT companies across the world." As a first step, QAI has opened a wholly-owned subsidiary in Singapore and this would cater to needs of the Apac region. It is also planning to open offices in China and Korea.
QAI is also looking for Joint Ventures abroad. However, the majority stake would be held by QAI. It is investing an initial amount of Rs 2.5 crore in setting up offices overseas, he added.

QAI is also launching an e-learning programme within the next two to three months for which QAI has identified a major partner in the US. "We would be creating a large e-school for providing anywhere anytime training to customers across the world," Mr Mohnot said. QAI, which offers training to IT companies, is looking at the new initiative as a tool to extend the programme globally.

QAI, which got its first round of funding from companies like Prudential ICICI, would be going for a second round of funding in the third quarter of this year.
On India specific plans, Mr Mohnot said, they were starting Six Sigma practices, knowledge management practices, HR consulting practices and practices for IT enabled services like call centers.
