Quality Assurance Institute (QAI) India is planning to invest around Rs 25 crore in the next two years for developing a separate online training division to impart training through Internet and Intranets. The company, which is in the business of providing training in software engineering and management, also plans to go in for its second round of funding by the end of this year to raise around $5 million.

Navyug Mohnot, Executive Director, QAI says, “We plan to capitalise on our knowledge and experience in the international market through the Internet. However, the online initiative will create a new revenue stream in domestic market.”

The company will launch online training in the next two months under a new brand. It is also expanding its geographical presence and setting up operations in other countries as well. The company already has an office in Singapore and plans to open offices in other countries of South East Asia, Asia Pacific and the European region, said Mohnot.

In India, QAI plans to target the large corporate accounts to market its online training courses. The company will be selling the online training programmes by offering corporate accounts on its own portal as well as by installing them on client companies’ Intranets.

Mohnot said that the new medium would be able to address the training requirements which are ignored by the companies because of the paucity of time. Elaborating further, he said that the company would offer almost all courses which are built around new concepts and knowledge.
