QAI at Beijing SPIN 2002
Tsinghua
University, one of the largest universities in China hosted
the Beijing SPIN meet on 13th April 2002. Beijing
SPIN and QAI together organized the event as a
prelude to the SEPGSM conference in China. The meet discussed CMM®,
its benefits, CMM® for small companies, and other CMM® related
issues and implementation techniques.
Mr Indradeb P Pal,
a senior CMM® consultant of QAI, and a founder
member of the Software Process Improvement Network (SPIN) in
Bangalore, gave a two-hour presentation on CMM® and its
role in the growth of software industry. Around 70 to 80
people including members of Beijing SPIN, SEPGSM heads of large
Chinese corporations, Directors of software companies,
students from the Chinese University and people from the
press, formed a part of the gathering.
The attendees
at the end of the session also received free CDs of the Best
Practices from Indian High Maturity firms (from the
SEPGSM conference held in India in the month of Feb).
The
meet charged up the attendees and the delegates from the
Chinese industry who were looking forward to the SEPGSM
conference.
