Wipro Technologies, Bangalore has been assessed at Level 5 of People Capability Maturity Model® (PCMM®) under the Software Engineering Institute - Carnegie Mellon University's certification process. By achieving this milestone Wipro has become the world’s first company to be assessed at this certification. 

Ajay Batra, lead assessor and consulting partner QAI Ltd said "1200 odd employees were polled, over 70 people interviewed, and over 800 documents were looked at before giving the certification."

The assessment included the strategic business units and divisions of Wipro Technologies, Bangalore, encompassing over 6000 employees. Completed over a period of 9 days it was conducted by an assessor accredited by SEI^SM/TeraQuest. 

He further said that the model facilitates and nurtures a culture of professional excellence, business readiness and alignment between individual and organisation needs.
