'Overview
to PCMM®'
Rajesh Naik, QAI Ltd.
The
People Capability Maturity Model®
(People CMM®) was first
released in 1995 to guide organizations
in attracting, developing, motivating,
organizing & retaining a
talented workforce. Version
2 of the People CMM® was
released in July 2001. It contains
many enhancements based on 5
years of applying the model
in industry & government.
These enhancements include a
much stronger integration of
team building practices throughout
the model, much stronger ties
to the process roots of other
CMMs®, improved guidance
on quantitative management techniques,
& inclusion of recent developments
such as communities of practice
& knowledge management.
The practices in the People
CMM® will help an organization
become an employer of choice
& ensure that they have
the talent to achieve their
current & future business
objectives. The 2-Day tutorial
provides an in depth understanding
of Version 2 of the People CMM®
& how they can be used to
improve an organization's workforce
management practices.
The tutorial is the first step
to get an in-depth understanding
of the model for implementation.
It will provide:
- Managers
with an understanding of their
responsibilities within each
of the process area.
- Human
resource professionals with
an understanding of the how
the maturity framework can
be used to more effectively
introduce workforce practices
into their organizations.
- Those
involved in change management,
process improvement, or organizational
effective programs with an
understanding of how to apply
People CMM®, Version 2
to their organizations.
