| Workshop Background and Overview
Leadership as ever before continues to hold center stage of all environments around us. Enough and more is being written and showcased for further reading and research. No single argument has a unique appeal to support the crying need to develop a single aspect of the illusive competence called ' Leadership'.
Motives direct behavior. Maslow, McClelland, Murray and several other psychologists have spent their lives searching answers to basic questions like what makes people behave the way they behave in order to enhance their Human Potential as Managers and Leaders?
This workshop will employ power OD instruments like the FIRO B to determine leadership traits and bring out the significance of the Motivational traits that determine effective leadership styles. For example while leaders need to have a high achievement motivation, effective managers have a high achievement, high social power, moderate affiliation and high inhibition.
Another objective of this program will be to provide leaders in organizations with insights so that they are able to offer right motivational climate to enable managers to have the right impact. Many managers struggle a lot spending their lives not knowing what they want. No guidance is available and career choices and job effectiveness are left to chance. A lot of human energy can be saved in the workplace if people are clear about what motivates them, and then create opportunities for fulfillment of these motives. |
