The Workshop is targeted towards Senior Project Managers/ Program managers handling
multiple Projects on how they can handle the Program management more effectively. The workshop focuses on the three themes of Benefits Realization Management, Program Stakeholder Management and establishing Program Governance Structures in the context of Program Lifecycle Management processes |

| Workshop Outline |
Programs are clusters of Projects taken as a Group to achieve organizational synergy. This grouping addresses the strategic intent when the benefits of the collective execution and tracking of the component Projects are paramount. Benefit realization and successful Stakeholder Management are important in a Program Management environment.
The current Workshop outlines the Program Lifecycle Management model, as per the Project Management Institute (PMI) standard ( ver 1) and includes the following topics:
- What are Programs and how are they different from Projects?
- Interrelationships between Projects, Programs and Portfolios
- How to undertake Program Portfolio Planning?
- Description of the Program Management standard from PMI
- Program management themes - : Benefits Management, Governance and Stakeholder Management
- Benefit Realisation Plan Management
- Overview of the Program Management processes as per PMI model - across multiple process groups – including Planning, Executing and Controlling
- Pre-program set up activities required for successful Program execution
- Setting up Program Management and Technical Infrastructure
- Benefit delivery and Program closure
- Description of major documents/themes in Program Lifecycle management:
- Program Charter
- Program Stakeholder Analysis
- Program WBS and its interlinkage to the Project WBS
- Communicating in a Program environment
- Transition Management Plan
- Setting up of Program Governance Board
- The role of Program Management Office (PMO) in successful execution of Programs
- Roadmap for setting up and operationalising PMOs
